百利冰室 (Pak Lee cafe) ~ 西湾河 Sai Wan Ho

We made a Mount Parker (Quarry Bay) to Tai tam reserviour walk and stopped by 百利冰室 at 西湾河(Sai Wan Ho).  Our veteran hiker's favourite spot for macaroni & ham breakfast ~ cha can tng style.  The chicken drumstick is also. Hot favourite with locals as the skin is roasted to perfect crisp.

Location:
百利冰室 (Sai Wan Ho)
筲箕灣道216號地下, Sai Wan Ho
3min walk from exit B Sai Wan Ho MTR

One of my favourite trees on this route.

A touch of red
Spring flowers
View from bus 14 leaving Tai tam reservoir towards Sai Wan Ho

We packed their homemade bread, cookie and cakes home too, taste was localised and average.

Best macaroni in town because of the 'special' soup base ~ according to my veteran hiker.
Roast chicken drumstick ~ another hot favourite of the locals.

Local snack sprinkle with sugar
Hot dog with crusty bun

I love taking pics of fruit stalls because of the lighting cast on the colourful fruits display.

Fortress Hill and Northpoint egglet waffle 利強記北角雞蛋仔

Quarry bay hike via Sir Cecil's ride down Po Luen path to Fortress hill and Northpoint MTR.

利強記北角雞蛋仔 (North Point)
492 King's Road, North Point
2mins walk from exit B3 North point MTR

The road less travelled.
We took Sir Cecil's ride path which is a smooth walk down to Po Luen road which ends in Fortress hill.
Bins for doggy pooo.
We tried mulberry which is a juicy fairly sweet berry that resembles mini grapes.
Fruit stall along Fortress hill MTR route to Northpoint MTR.
Famous egglet waffle at Northpoint.

Mr and Mrs Fox ~ Quarry Bay

Lunch with team mates and HR, hosted by boss near office.  Set meal was value for money, a choice venue to host business guests.

Mr & Mrs Fox (Quarry Bay)
G/F, 23 Tong Chong Street, Quarry Bay
Exit A Quarry bay MTR

Set lunch for hkd85

Pork neck and pomelo salad on the left.  Mac and cheese (aged Gruyere) on the right.  Cheese was rich.  Pork neck well-marinated, tender inside and roasted to the right level of crisp at the edges.

Dalloyau ~ Causeway bay

Dalloyau pop-up store at Hysan Place, Causeway bay.  French pastry and dessert always find their way to my stomach.  Love the Mont Blanc which has some raspberry added for a tinge of sour into the sweetness.  Croissant had a crisp crust and soft Center.  Brioche was soft and butter and jam was fresh and light.

Colourful macaroons.
Esther tells me their Opera is the Original, hope to get to try it sooon.

Xmas is still in the air.
Hope to try these wafers next time round.
I'm dreaming of a white Xmas.

Fun toast ~ Raffles place MRT Singapore

Fun toast. They serve the best yummy sweet gula Melaka iced tea in town.  I had two in one go after weeks of hibernation in Hong Kong.

Typical packet Nasi lemak available in Singapore.  A taste of home to return to.

翠华餐厅 Tsui Wah Resturant ~ Causeway Bay

My first loved Cha Can Tng 茶餐厅 which I still return to when we want a quick fix in town without much queue.  Or like today, when we waited for a friend from faraway till late night 10pm for dinner (this outlet closes at 1am).

Tsui Wah Restaurant (Causeway Bay)
G/F - 3/F, Lockhart Road 485, Causeway Bay

Exit C Causeway Bay MTR
