Weekday. A pleasant surprise like this cheers up a mid-week bore. After dinner, a detour suggested by a friend to check out some new haunt before heading home. We walked into the only lited cafe along the dark stretch of shop houses opposite the blue and white painted police quarters along Transfer road.
We could not resist the offer made by owners to try the most popular Cheesy Jack - Chempedak cheesecake (2nd last pic from bottom). It was very yummy, rich and creamy ~ a unique heavenly marriage of chempedak and cheese. Other options are peanut butter chocolate cake, blueberry cheesecake, Oreo cheesecake, raisin cheesecake, nutty banana, red velvet, marshmallow cheesecake. A new variation is Yam cheesecake, taste the chunky pieces of yam layered atop chocolate cake with a tinge of bitter.
