Medium at large - Singapore Art Museum

Contemporary Art.  A mystery I cannot fathom.

I like the shadows cast by this rattan structure.  It's unpredictable.

The story of Vietnam people sum up in white and black, rice and mine.

I enjoyed reading the first two letters, they have the from the heart, bare it all feel and they tell the story of contemporary lifestyle, of the common struggle with love, it's mystery and unrequited love.  Didn't know that people still write letters and I wonder if I can write one like that or if I do write one to the artist, what would I write?

I took this because I thought only people of long ago have such vintage cursive handwriting.

This pic has accompanying nice pics.

Vintage tiles of my love.
Side view of Raffles hotel.

Love these windows painted red frame on the whitewashed wall.
Bikes with F1 flags, spot the bright lilac painted windows above.

逸群 Yet Con hainanese chicken rice ~ Purvis street

You can tell that the food of an eatery has not changed, from it's setting and decoration and everything else that has not change over the years.  It's been a year or two that we haven't visit this old school hainanese chicken rice haunt.  Relieved to discover that it has not changed.

This place was introduced by an ex-colleague.  According to her, it's a place she bring visitors from overseas for a taste of Singapore.
Big hens.
Chairs, tables, tiles; everything looks like they haven't replaced them for years.
Including the clock.  They serve steamboat too but 2 pax can never stomach so much.  You need to come in a group to have both chicken rice and steamboat.
Chicken chop in big chunks.
Rice is fragrant and makes you crave for more.
Chilli is hot enough and goes well best with the ginger and dark soy sauce mix.
Stir fried Kai LAN.
Vintage chairs, tables with marble tops 'punctuated' with holes, old tiles.
Cash counter with antique abacus and pay phone.  Uncle wears his belt to his chest.  Bring enough cash because they don't accept credit.
I always love 3D red calligraphy on whitewashed pillars.
It's F1 season and you spot Ferraris on Singapore roads more than the usual.

Jai Thai Resturant ~ east coast road

Authentic Thai food in town.  A place worth revisit, value for money.

Start off 'traditionally' with mango salad.
Best dish on the table, panda chicken - huge chunks of chicken, juicy, tasty and peppered with white sesame.
Deep fried chicken in prawn paste and driddled with spicy sauce.
Clear tom yum soup, spicy and good.
Green curry creamy and rich.
Pad Thai of reasonable standard.
Olive fried rice which can improve on flavour.
Fried tanghun with beancurd, very well-done; not oily and full of flavour.
Fish cake soft and flavourful.
Prawn cake taste too much of flour.
Deep fried fish.
Stir fried bean sprouts.
Fried Kai LAN.
Red ruby drink.
