55 years of retrospective of Cheah Tien Soong
Love the splashes of colour in his otherwise black and white paintings. He creates a 3 dimensional visual effect on a 2 dimensional plane using depths and granularity; by accentuating the size of objects, often times with an exaggeration from its natural state. Otherwise, alternating between bold strokes and thin lines which portrays the confidence in the artist to create originality.
The first painting was a love at first sight at the gallery. The last two were first encountered in the newspapers and they drew me to see his works, live at NAFA.
