Macalister Mansion ~ candlelight

Champion in my list of luxurious dinner in Penang.  The place to spend time with the special people in your life.  The food ~ taste and presentation; ambience and service is par excellence.  I love returning to this place, it's magical.

Bread and butter starter.

Appetiser ~ foie gras (duck liver) topped with caviar.
Apple sorbet to clear the palate before the main course.
Braised lamb which is very tasty and full of flavour.
Duck confit with stuffing ~ I was expecting the skin to be crispier.

Izakaya Nijumaru Resturant ~ Cuppage plaza @ Orchard road

By now this Resturant has become one of my favourite when we crave for Japanese food.  A haunt to bring guests to, as these are unlikely places that they would have visited no matter how many times they have visited Singapore.

Hidden at the back row of shops on the 2nd floor (#02-01) of Cuppage plaza, they rightfully  label this place the hidden gem for authentic Japanese food.

2nd floor view from escalator.
Queue for a table which they will give you one when all guests are present.

Huey&wah cafe and others

Before stopping by Huey&Wah cafe, I dropped by one of my favourite dry kuey tiao at Carnovan/Pitt street.

Before.. Topped with pork lad and fried garlic.
After... Bask in soy sauce.  Homemade minced meat flatten with eel meat fishball in the background.
A typical coffee shop scene in this part of the world.
Lebuh melayu with the corner shop's carved out pillar, fringed by motorbike on the left, pushcart on the right and lady with a brolly in the Center.  Washed wall and grey and off white colour scheme, with a tinge of red, green and blue.
Jalan magazine, beautiful windows and carvings on walls.
Huey&Wah cafe at Pulau tikus, next to corner Ambank.
I like nestling on 2nd floor.
Where I can shop while waiting for my coffee.
Kids playing on beanies.
And I like to look down from above.
Light bulb chandelier.
Here comes the Flat white.
The sandwich the serve.
Flat white and friends.  I love the homemade marshmallow, not too sweet, taste natural, huge chuncks, very spongy.     I love squeezing and playing with them before popping into my mouth, that itself is luxury.
