Bangkok lane ~ best mee goreng in town

This version is dry compare to the usual mamak mee goreng we get in Singapore.    It scores high in taste, delicious with a good mix of cucuk, potatoes,  squids and veg; you will return for more.

BANGKOK LANE MEE GORENG @ SENG LEE COFFEE SHOP

Kuey tiao tng - Jln Hutton

Foo cheok cafe

Love the uneven shape of the fishball.

Further down the street, another one of our favourites.

Dried version.

Sunrise

Why is sunrise so charming, enticing and mesmerising?

I'd stop whatever I'm doing just to live that 2 mins watching the sunrise.  Maybe it's because for that 2 mins, as we focus on the growing 'egg yolk', we are living in the moment.  Thus, if we are living in the moment every min of our life, will we then feel the same bliss as we do when we watch sunrise?

Jiao sai - maggi mee goreng

Best 'maggi' mee goreng in town.  Using Thai brand Tom yum mee, goreng (fried) and served with fried egg with liquid yolk.  Fried chicken is tender inside and crisp outside.

Piao Xiang - clay pot rice in Taman Sri tebrau

Piao Xiang clay pot rice ~ one of my frequent lunch options when I was a student.  Mum would get these packed home for us, quantity was big and tasty. Wait was always long, rice was cooked over charcoal fire.

Recent visit to the coffee shop, taste is still much the same, smaller quantity, most importantly the salted fish served is still prepared the same way.

Tried the Johor laksa as well, typical of Johor laksa, served with small fried fish balls and yummy gravy.
