Italiannies @ Guerney Paragon

Set lunch with some colleagues at Italiannies at Guerney Paragon. Value for money, serving is pretty huge.  Taste is good.  Generally, service needs improvement except for the general manager who is attentive and  swift.

We started with some warm bread and minestrone soup loaded with lots of vegetables.

For main course, we had Angelhair Pomodoro with asparagus in a tomato based sauce.  Noodle is cooked to right texture and sauce is tasty.

Sausage carbonara is thick creamy and topped with sausage balls full of flavour.  Tacchino pizza is served with pineapple and ham aptly mixed sweet and sour taste, over thin crust.

Creame brûlée is yummy with strong egg taste and serving is big.  Thumbs up.

Victoria Rossa ~ English Tea Room

A quaint spot that I frequent for lunch if I want some quiet in this vicinity.  Ambience is Victorian to the dot.  Served by waitresses in apron.  Drink from teacups adorned with flower bouquets and lined with gold rims.  Feel like a princess for an hour.

Victoria Rossa (closed on Tuesdays), Georgetown, Penang.

And this is a house in the same vicinity.  Love the pink scooter.

Sunny day at Sarnies

A cool location in town to have a hearty sandwich and coffee.  Serving is huge, greens are fresh, meat is juicy and bread is soft and crusty on outside.

Ladies lunching alone are busy with their gadgets while I was busy people watching.

Go RAW

Chinese Lunar New Year.  Met up with friends over the holidays.  We wanted to go to the Rider's cafe which was closed and decided to pop by any cafe along 6th avenue, Bukit Timah.

Came across Living Cafe & Deli that sells Raw food.  Look closely, they served raw pineapple tart in time with the festive season.  Not for the weak stomach.  Chocolate nut milk shake was thick, tasty and refreshing.  While raw blueberry cheesecake was smooth with a crunchy crust.  Flat white with hazelnut milk was a good variation but lifeless.
